Default 83 Vanagon won't start without jump

I've got a 1983 Vanagon with a Wasserbox engine. When I turn the key it will either turn over once or twice slowly, or not at all, but not start. If it's jumped it starts fine. The battery tests ok. The guy at O'Reilly thought that it sounded like a grounding issue, that the connections or cables are corroded. I've cleaned/replaced a few of them, but have not seen an improvement in performance.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks

    B

Thanks, I got it figured out. I cleaned or replaced every ground I could get to and put a fresh charge on the battery. Seems to be working so far . . .
