Default Bruce Peninsula and Tobermory, Ontario

Hi everyone, welcome "Sprinter"! But spring is almost here, which means that VW camping days are coming up! So excited....we are hoping to get to the Bruce Peninsula/Tobermory area. Does anyone out there have advice on where to go? We will be in our '91 Weekender, with kayaks on top, bikes on the back, and our trusty Black Lab. I have seen the Bruce Peninsula Nat'l Park info, but it seems like a big, busy campsite. We don't need any hookups so a regular "tent camping" spot (but reachable by our Westie, of course) is best. Or should we find a spot on Manitoulin Island, and then take the ferry over to Tobermory? (I'm guessing not, since it's a 2-hour ferry trip.)

Any tips or info would be greatly appreciated! And if you are in the Ottawa area, make sure you check out Busfusion, held in June in Almonte, Ontario. Always a fun weekend!

    Thanks.

Hi, we stayed right in Tobermory and loved it. Very similar to what you would find down east on the Cabot Trail in terms of people. There's so much to explore and you might want to check "tripadvisor" for recommendations. Manitoulin Island is pretty low key too and the ferry ride is fun.

    Good luck!

p.s Make sure you go to Flowerpot island!!!
