Default Turning off Heater in 1975 Bus

So the heater in my 1975 bus works great. a little too great now that it's summer. I know that the heater is always "on", but I was wondering if there was an easy way to divert the air for the next few weeks of summer as we're planning a road trip soon.

Operating the appropriate red-knobbed lever on the dashboard, should close the dampers in the head-exchanger control-pods and vent the heated air beneath the vehicle. If this is not funtioning correctly, check the cables and dampers.
