    Default Just baught a Westfalia!

Hi, I just baught a 1993 Westfalia Euro weekender...pick it up tomorrow! So excited...I paid 7,795 and it has 150,000 miles...kelly bluebook said they are worth around 12,000. I think I did good? Found it in the newspaper and the gentleman was an older man and said he can't really camp anymore because of health issues...contacted his mechanic and it seems he took good care of it. My only worries are getting stuck in the boonies as I am a girl and know nothing about working on cars! Hopefully I won't wind up with buyers remorse in the morning but am so excited I know the miles are kind of high but it seems to be in great shape...think I did good? Taking it in on Fridayfor an oil change and transmission fluid change and to get it checked over, probly should have had it checked out beforehand but was afraid someone would snatch it up. Ok, so my real question is...am I a total idiot, lol? Oh well, so excited to take up to Hood River for a little windsurfing, oh, ya, had racks on it, the icing on the cake!

Go girl! You got a righteous buy and all your questions can be addressed by the tech you use for the check up. Just be sure he knows Eurovans, otherwise he's basically worthless.

Congratulations!! I bought my 1987 Westie 7-8 years ago. It had 140,000 miles or so and it runs and has run well. I went from WV to CA and back in 2007 with two small repairs.
The mechanic I had check it out before purchase told me I had a good engine and he was right. Read read read on this site, I learned alot from here and then made my purchase.
It can help you with talking to mechanics as well you'll look informed and maybe they will treat you better.
