Default Converting to Diesel ATD Pump Dusse engine

I have a 2,1 L Westfalia Weekender 1989 and would like to convert it with an TDI from a 04 Jetta code ATD Pump Dusse engine. It comes with complete wiring harness, ECM, gas pedal etc. from the Jetta. It also has the Kennedy adapter plate, clutch and flywheel. It as 45 000 km. I don't know much about TDI conversion so here's a few questions.

    - Is it a good engine to put in a Weekender 1989?
    - Is there anything important I should know before buying that type of engine?
    - Anything else I should know when installing the engine?

    Thanks for your help

I just registered on this site. I'm planning on getting a westy, 87'-90' and I had considered putting in a TDI motor for power and fuel economy. Did you end up doing the conversion? How did it go and are you happy with the result. Thanks.

    Default TDI conversion

    Hey Steve,

Yes, I did the conversion my self and I'm very happy with it. I get an average of 7-8L/100km. The engine runs well and is a more powerful.

    I definitely recommend the conversion!
