    Default Favored options

My wife and I are starting to search for a Westfalia (mid-80s to '92). Would appreciate any input on what features/options to look for, also, what features to avoid. Thank you.

If I was in the market I would look for a Van that was regularly maintained, with receipts to back up maintenance claims. As far as options, I like a stock vehicle...a few upgrades are good. Stuff like brake/tire size upgrades and newer fuel lines are desired. Id stay away from a vehicle that's rusty or one that's been converted from fuel injection to a carb set up. Depending upon your budget, keep in mind that these vehicles are going on between 20 and 30 something years old so keep a stash of cash for unexpected repairs. Some parts for the older Vans are getting harder and harder to find....especially a quality part.
Its been said time and time again that the Van itself will choose a prospective owner. If you get goose bumps and you begin to quiver....just maybe the Van is "talking to you".
Best of luck to you. ;-)
